"Adjusting the lens through which you view your client and their world."

*******

This webinar is the second in our series of trainings and supervisions designed to support Schema Therapists in improving treatment outcomes and building confidence when working with neurodivergent clients.

Our approach facilitates an individualised, progressive learning experience with opportunities for participants to engage deeply in a comprehensive journey through neurodiversity-affirming schema therapy practice or to access training for more targeted areas of learning.

When working with neurodivergent clients....

Things are not always as they seem.

What appears to be maladaptive may actually be adaptive coping or innate differences.
Conversely, what looks adaptive may be maladaptive masking.
How do you tell the difference? What do you do next?

We can help you with that...

This long-awaited training guides clinicians through the specifics of how to adjust their Schema Therapy practice to meet the needs of their neurodivergent clients.

Let's do a deep dive into how to effectively assess and conceptualise schemas and modes in Autistic and ADHD clients. Your inquiry-based learning experience will encompass the following:

  • What schemas are more commonly seen in neurodivergent populations and why are they prominent?
  • Which schemas and modes are often mistakenly identified in these populations?
  • Are there neurodivergent-specific modes?
  • How can I accurately conduct schema and mode assessments and what should I watch for in the tools I use?
  • What ways can I better understand the systemic and individual factors that are relevant to my client's formulation?
  • How can I develop awareness of my own biases in my formulations and therapy goals?
  • How can I develop an affirming formulation and SMART treatment goals with my client?

We encourage active participation, inviting you to integrate NDA principles directly into your Schema Therapy practice. We look forward to engaging with attendees during the live webinar, inviting questions and discussions to enrich the learning experience for all.

"When we know better, we can do better"

-Paraphrased from Maya Angelou-

"You will not convince your client that they are whole, worthy and worthwhile whilst implicitly participating in a cultural narrative that views them as defective"

-Alyssa Garrett-

"By embracing neurodiversity, we unlock a world of potential that allows every individual to flourish in their unique way."
